‘How To’ fade an overlay image in and out

Images in custom title overlays turn on and off rather than smoothly fading in and out. Here’s the ‘How To’ about changing it to suit.

This is for MM2.1 users… the html code is different for MM6 users… it’s a widescreen overlay image for a widescreen project.

‘How To’… Fade an overlay image in and out from PapaJohn on Vimeo.

The xml code to add the overlying logo and have it fade in and out is in the video…. pause it as needed

Thanks, What is the main difference between xp and vista movie maker xml stuff?Right now this is what i did,to get a 10sec video with a smooth fade in of an overlay for the last 5 sec.1. took the full length video. for example 10sec of video2. published the first 5 seconds to a separate movie file without the overlay.3. published the last 6 seconds with overlay to a separate movie file.4. important and made another project with these two and just made them overlap for 1 sec.looks good, though it is a lot of work!

I don\’t think there\’s a \’main difference\’… just details being different. For example, I got a step further today by changing Param name="InternalName" value="TitleStandard" for XP to Param name="Animation" value="TitleStandard" for Vista. As I make my projects mainly in XP, I\’m not actively trying to make everything in Vista work as it does in XP…. there are users who visit the windowsmoviemakers.net forums who dig much deeper into the xml code. You might want to ask questions there, or dig through the code already in their growing library of Vista xml things.Yes, you did find a work-around. I\’d have done the clip on my XP system and copied it to Vista…. having a few computers comes in handy at times…
